Gwinnett Braves Rained out in Norfolk

NORFOLK, VA - Rain has postponed Thursday's 12:05 p.m. game between the Gwinnett Braves (25-27) and the Norfolk Tides (30-23) at Harbor Park.

The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader that starts at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday, September 2 during Gwinnett's final visit to Norfolk this season. Both games will be seven innings.

The Gwinnett Braves return home for a 7:05 p.m. game Friday against the Durham Bulls. Right-hander Sugar Ray Marimon (3-2, 3.58 ERA) will be on the mound for the G-Braves, while the Bulls will start right-hander Matt Andriese (1-0, 2.93 ERA). Tony Schiavone will have the play-by-play call on 97.7 FM and WSBRadio.com beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The opener of the six-game homestand is a "Fireworks Friday," featuring a spectacular display following the game. It's also "Paint the Park Purple Night" for Relay For Life of Gwinnett.
