Bats Drop Error-Plagued Game to Bisons, 4-0

LOUISVILLE Ky.- The Louisville Bats (28-26) dropped the first game of a four-game series to the Buffalo Bisons (27-27) Thursday night. The Bats defense struggled, making five errors in the ballgame.

The Bisons brought in the first run of the night in the third on a sac fly by third baseman Matt Hauge to give Buffalo the 1-0 lead. Buffalo tacked on another two runs in the fourth inning to make it 3-0.

Bisons second baseman Jonathan Diaz came home to score in the seventh after a line drive single by right-fielder Chris Dickerson, putting the Bisons ahead 4-0.

Taking the loss for the Bats was lefty David Holmberg (L, 3-4, 4.68) who threw six innings. He allowed eight hits, four runs, three earned, two walks and struck out six.

Securing the win for Buffalo was right-hander Scott Copeland (W, 4-1, 1.97) who pitched five innings, allowing two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

The Bats face the Bisons again tomorrow night at 7:05. Scheduled to take the mound for Louisville is righty Jon Moscot (7-1, 3.15) and for Buffalo left-hander Felix Doubront (0-0, 0.82).
