Pigs Begin Series with Indianapolis

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs begin a four-game set with the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. The IronPigs enter play at 20-34 after dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Rochester on Wednesday. Indianapolis currently holds the best record in the International League at 32-22 and took two of three from Buffalo earlier this week.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (2-1, 2.51) gets the start for Lehigh Valley in the series opener. The southpaw earned the win last time out as he gave up just three hits over eight shutout innings while walking two and fanning five at Charlotte on Saturday. Over his three starts with the IronPigs thus far, Vasquez has struck out 13 batters in 14.1 IP.

RHP Wilfredo Boscan (2-1, 3.89) will be on the bump for the Indians Thursday night. On Saturday vs. Toledo, Boscan got a no-decision after surrendering four runs on seven hits to go along with three walks and six strikeouts in 3.0 IP. The Maracaibo, Venezuela native is 1-1 with an 8.16 ERA in his last 4 GS.

Pigs OF Jordan Danks is hitting .324 (11-34)-0-5 over his last 10 G. The former Texas Longhorn also has three doubles and three runs scored in that span.

The first 2,000 fans 17 and under will receive a 2015 Team Card Set giveaway courtesy of NAMI-Lehigh Valley, Digital Oasis and InsuranceHouseCall.com. Thursday is also Jewish Heritage Night presented by the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley. Kosher food offerings under the supervision of the Lehigh Valley Kashrut Commission will be available for purchase by all fans on Jewish Heritage Night at a special kosher food stand. The kosher food stand will have a wide variety of items available, including hot dogs, hamburgers, knishes and beef kafta. There is also a pregame Happy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. in the AT&T Plaza with $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts. The hot dog offer for the Happy Hour does not apply to the Kosher hot dogs as part of the Jewish Heritage Night.
