Grrrowl announce trade transactions

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL have announced transactions that complete trades during the 2003-04 season. In the final agreements, the Grrrowl have received the rights to three players from three separate teams.

COREY HESSLER (6-1, 205lbs., Defenseman) comes to Greenville from the Columbia Inferno via the Johnstown Chiefs on January 31, 2004 for Jeff Zehr. In the deal, Johnstown received future considerations from Columbia and designated that player to Greenville. HESSLER played 126 games with Columbia over the past two seasons, and total 69 points and 173 penalty minutes. He also has 8 games of experience in the AHL with the Portland Pirates during this past season.

DEVIN RASK (5-9, 175lbs., Center) was the future consideration part of the trade with the Trenton Titans on February 25, 2004 for Scott Kirton. In the trade, the Grrrowl also received Bill Cass (D), who played in 18 games (8 points, 16 PIM's) after coming to Greenville. After playing four years at Providence College, Rask spent his rookie season in Trenton, playing in 72 games and totaling 34 points and 24 PIM's.

CLAYTON READ (6-2, 195lbs., Forward) complete the March 16, 2004 San Diego Gulls trade for the rights to Nick Lent. Read, a veteran of 339 professional games, has played in 133 games with San Diego over the past two seasons, gathering 107 points.
