Blades Fleming Receives Two Year Extension

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush announced today that the Everblades have re-signed head coach Gerry Fleming to a two year contract extension through the 2005-06 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. During the 2003-04 season, Fleming guided the Blades to their most successful season in franchise history as they captured the Eastern Conference championship. The Blades also made their first ever trip to the Kelly Cup Finals.

During his three seasons in Estero, Fleming has compiled a 109-75-32 regular season record and three straight playoff berths. "We are very pleased to have Gerry back for the next two years; the team had an outstanding playoff run this past season. Gerry's dedication resulted in the best season in Everblades history and he is committed to bringing the Kelly Cup to Southwest Florida," stated Everblades President Craig Brush on Friday morning. The Everblades open their seventh season on October 22nd at the recently renamed Germain Arena. Fleming is already looking ahead to October, "This past season was tremendous for this organization and community. My family and I are elated to be back for the next two seasons in Southwest Florida. I continue to be committed to accomplishing our ultimate goal which is bringing a championship here to our great fans."
