Bardsley Named Winner Of Outstanding Media Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Friday that Len Bardsley of The Times of Trenton is the 2003-04 recipient of the ECHL Outstanding Media Award.

The award is determined in a vote of league media members, media relations directors and broadcasters.

A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Bardsley will be entering his third full season as the Trenton Titans beat writer, having taken over during the final month of the regular season in 2001-02. In addition to regular coverage of the Titans, Bardsley regularly produces ECHL feature stories for The Times.

Bardsley has been with The Times for 15 years writing about hockey at all levels from high school to the National Hockey League where he spent 10 seasons covering the Philadelphia Flyers. Bardsley was The Times beat writer for the Flyers for three seasons before beginning his coverage of the Titans.

Following his graduation from Springfield College in Massachusetts, Bardsley spent a year working in the sports information office at Princeton University where his primary responsibility was hockey. He also worked for a short time at the Wilmington News Journal before joining The Times. Bardsley and his wife, Nancy, live in Manasquan, N.J. with their children, Katie and Daniel.
