Grizzlies Head into All-Star Break with Another Victory

LOVES PARK, IL - Gateway finished off the first half of the season on a high note with a 10-5 victory against Rockford at RiverHawks Stadium Sunday night. It gave the Grizzlies their second win in a row and sent them into the all-star break only four games back of Schaumburg in the Frontier League West Division.

Gateway (25-23) scored 10 runs on 12 hits, while also walking seven times. Richie Jimenez Jr., Antone DeJesus and Jon Myers all had two-hit games while Rogelio Norris paced the Grizzlies with three hits. DeJesus drove in two runs and Myers brought home three, including a two-run home run.

Gateway led by as many as seven runs while cruising to the series victory. Paul Tremlin (4-0) got the victory in his second professional start. Tremlin set down 13 batters in a row at one point en route to giving up just three runs on four hits in seven innings. Tremlin walked one and struck out two.

The Grizzlies enjoy three days off for the all-star break before returning to action on Thursday night at GCS Ballpark against the Florence Freedom. First pitch is set for 7:05 CT.
