Home Run Derby Participants Announced

Southern Illinois Miners News Release
Marion, IL - The Southern Illinois Miners have announced they will have Jake Kaase and Chad Maddox represent the Miners in the "State Farm" Home Run Derby at the Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois.
Kaase (7) and Maddox (6) are first and second on the Miners with home runs. The 2012 State Farm Home Run Derby will take place on Tuesday, July 10 at 6:30pm.
Last season, the Miners did not have a representative in the Home Run Derby. In 2010, Miners own Brad Miller won the Home Run Derby at Rent One Park with 13 total home runs in three rounds.
The first round will consists of 8 outs per batter, with any ball that is not a home run considered an out. The top four batters will advance to the second round, which will also consist of 8 outs. The top two totals of the first and second rounds combined will advance to the finals, which will be five outs.
