Boise, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 Wednesday evening in Boise, erasing a 1-0 third period lead for Utah and opening the four-game in six night series with a win.

The Grizzlies drew six of eight power-plays in the game and outshot Idaho 40-22, but were unable to get a second goal.

D.J. Jelitto's third goal of the year as Jamie MacQueen fed him the puck on a three-on-two 9:28 into the second period broke the scoreless tie and gave Utah a 1-0 lead. Utah continued to keep the pressure on as the period unwound and drew a late power-play, but was never able to make it 2-0.

Idaho's third ranked power-play had only two chances Wednesday, but scored on their second opportunity 4:26 into the third to tie the game as one of the Grizzlies penalty-killers lost a stick. 3:05 later at 7:31 a Utah turnover at their own blue line led to an Idaho breakaway and the Steelheads took a 2-1 lead.

Utah had two of their final six power-plays in the final 7:09 but was never able to get one by Idaho goaltender Pat Nagle who stopped 39 of 40 in the contest.

Aaron Dell stopped 20 of 22 in the losing effort for Utah as he had no chance on either Idaho score in the third.
