Ontario's Niederberger Recalled to Manchester

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, announced that goaltender Mathias Niederberger has been recalled to the American Hockey League's Manchester Monarchs following the Kings recall of Martin Jones on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Niederberger, 21, made one appearance for Manchester, when he relieved former Reign goaltender JF Berube, on Sunday, Jan. 5. After seeing 36 minutes of ice time, Niederberger stopped 13 of 14 shots. The Jan. 5 game marked the Dusseldorf, Germany native's AHL debut.

While with the Reign, Niederberger has played in six games with a 2-1-2 record, 2.79 goals-against average, and .889 save percentage.

Niederberger is currently under contract with the NHL's Los Angeles Kings.
