Colorado Eagles News Release

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Colorado Eagles (19-10-4-2) picked up a point as they fell 5-4 in overtime to the San Francisco Bulls (14-19-4-1) at the Cow Palace on Wednesday night.

The Bulls found the back of the net on their first power play of the night. San Francisco forward Ryan Garlock beat Eagles goalie Adam Brown, five hole, to give the Bulls the 1-0 lead 7:06 into the first frame. Almost four minutes later, Bulls forward Luke Judson netted a puck on a backhand shot from the low slot to put San Francisco up 2-0.

With Colorado on a power play, just over six minutes into the second period, Eagles forward Alex Hudson backhanded the puck past Bulls netminder Tyler Beskorowany to get Colorado on the board 2-1. Colorado defenseman Mark Nemec tied the game, 2-2, with the Eagles second unanswered goal of the game 12:30 into the period. The Eagles would best Beskorowany, yet again, top shelf as Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski gave Colorado the 3-2 advantage 16:23 into the second. With just 15 seconds remaining in the period, San Francisco forward Jordan Morrison answered the Eagles scoring rally to tie the game again, 3-3.

Just over five minutes into the final stanza, Colorado forward Kyle Ostrow picked up a loose puck and put it in the net to place the Eagles back in the lead, 4-3. San Francisco forward Riley Brace sought to tie the game once more, 4-4, as he grabbed the puck out of the neutral zone and powered down the ice to beat Brown just over 10 minutes into the third.

The Bulls and Eagles headed into the five minute sudden death overtime with a tied score of 4-4. Three minutes and 16 seconds into overtime Bulls forward Dale Mitchell scored the game-winning, power-play goal to win the game, 5-4, for San Francisco.

The Eagles head to Ontario to take on the Reign on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18.
