West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (14-7-3-1) defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers (13-6-1-1) 4-1 Friday night at Maverik Center.

Like Wednesday, Utah built a 2-0 lead with a five-on-five goal that was shortly thereafter followed by a power-play goal. Chris Donovan (4) knocked in a rebound 3:38 into the second period as linemates Michael Gergen and Marcus Carroll picked up assists. Brett Parnham made it 2-0 5:40 later as he took a feed from Kevin Deeth that was setup by Nick Tuzzolino.

"The guys really played well, they battled," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "We had a couple of breakdowns, but not too many. I'm proud of the guys. We have another tough matchup (Saturday) against Victoria, they have a lot of firepower and it's going to be another challenge to cap off a great weekend."

Utah made it 3-1 in the third as the Grizzlies patiently moved the puck around five-on-five and Chris Donovan found Brad Snetsinger on the side of the net for his team leading ninth goal of the year. The Grizzlies made it 4-1 with 15 seconds left as Matt Clarke (2) was awarded a goal after being pulled down on a breakaway as he skated towards the Wranglers empty-net.

Andrew Engelage improved to 7-2-2-2 by stopping 38 of 39 Las Vegas shots. Every Utah skater except Marcus Carroll, who tallied two assists, had at least one shot on goal.

Utah completes the weekend by hosting Victoria Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Grizzlies host Idaho Tuesday and Wednesday at Maverik Center.
