NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The Florida Everblades (17-12-0) saw their six-game road winning streak at the hands of the South Carolina Stingrays (12-13-1) and goaltender Todd Ford who stopped all 20 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Ford earned his second shutout of the season and gave the Everblades just their second blanking of the year. After a scoreless first period that saw the Everblades out-shoot the Stingrays 8-7, the Stingrays broke through first on the scoreboard midway through the second period. Off a right circle faceoff, the Stingrays gained control and saw Bryan Schmidt throw the puck on net where Matt Scherer deflected home his eighth goal of the season at 10:39.

As the middle period moved along, Everblades goaltender Jaroslav Janus came up big, making a total of 14 saves in the frame, including stopping a breakaway midway through the period.

In the third period, the Stingrays helped their cause by notching a power play goal at 6:04 when Josh Godfrey's shot from the blue line at the middle of the ice found its way through traffic and past Janus for his eighth goal of the season. The power play goal was the first by South Carolina against the Everblades in their four meetings.

The Stingrays sealed the win with an empty net tally with 58 seconds remaining when David de Kastrozza took the puck of the right boards and fired it into the open net for his eighth tally on the year.

In goal, Janus took the tough luck loss to see his record fall to 7-6-0 after making 27 saves. Ford improved his record to 6-4-0 with his 30 save performance.

On the power play, the Everblades finished the game 0-of-5 while South Carolina closed out the night 1-of-5.
