Kalamazoo Wings News Release
After meeting six times in the regular season last year and hooking up in the Kelly Cup playoffs, tonight is the first of two meetings between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Reading Royals. Last year, the K-Wings won the regular season series (5-0-1-0), but lost in game five of a five-game first round series.
This evening is the third leg of a four-game home stand for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo has split the previous two games of the stand and is coming off a 6-3 setback to the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday. With 23 points, Kalamazoo enters the night in third place in the North Division.
Commencing a five-game road swing with a 2-1 shootout victory against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday, the Royals head into Wings Stadium on a three-game winning streak. Over the past 10 games, Reading is 8-2-0-0 and because of their recent success have moved into first place in the Atlantic Division.
