North Charleston, SC -Goaltender Todd Ford registered his second shutout of the season as the South Carolina Stingrays (12-13-1-0) blanked the Florida Everblades (17-12-0-0) 3-0 in front of 3,163 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday night.

After a scoreless opening frame, Stingrays Captain Matt Scherer deflected a shot past Everblades goalie Jaroslav Janus at 10:39 of the second period to give the Stingrays a 1-0 lead. Forward Luke Popko and defenseman Bryan Schmidt received assists.

Defenseman Josh Godfrey put the Stingrays up by two on the power play at 6:04 of the third period from defenseman Patrick Cullity and forward Tommy Goebel. Forward David de Kastrozza iced the contest with an empty-net marker at 19:01 from forward Trent Campbell.

Janus stopped 27 of 30 Stingrays shots in the loss. Ford grabbed his sixth win of the season kicking away all 20 Everblades chances. The Stingrays ended the night 1-for-5 on the power play while the Everblades went 0-for-5.

The Stingrays make a quick trip to The Arena at Gwinnett Center tomorrow, December 18 to battle the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. Catch all the action LIVE on Fox Sports Radio 1450. The Rays close out the weekend on Sunday, December 19 against the Everblades at 4:00 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
