Grizzlies Assigned Two Players

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have assigned right wing Jon Sim and defenseman John Erskine to the Grizzlies.

Sim, 25, played 31 games with Utah last season scoring 21 goals and adding six assists with 63 penalty minutes. At the time of his call-up to Dallas, Sim was leading the American Hockey League (AHL) in goals scored (21). In 26 games with Dallas last season, Sim scored three goals and had 10 penalty minutes.

The 5-10, 190-pound New Glasgow, Nova Scotia native has played in 73 career NHL games scoring nine goals and adding six assists with 38 penalty minutes. Sim has also played in 11 NHL playoff games with the Stars scoring a goal and recording six assists.

Erskine, 22, played 39 games with Utah last season scoring two goals and adding six assists with 118 penalty minutes. He also played in three playoff games with Utah recording 10 penalty minutes. In 33 games with Dallas last season, Erskine registered an assist and 62 penalty minutes.

The 6-4, 215-pound Kingston, Ontario native has played in 116 games with Utah in his career scoring 17 points (3-14-17) with 402 penalty minutes.
