Grizzlies Activate Goaltender O'Keefe; Deal Van Buskirk

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has activated goaltender Mitch O'Keefe from 7-day IR and in turn traded goaltender Parker Van Buskirk to the South Carolina Stingrays in exchange for future considerations. The team also announced today that they have traded defenseman Chris Brooks to Bakersfield for future considerations as well.

O'Keefe returns to the active Grizzlies roster tied for fourth in the ECHL with ten wins and tied for the league lead with two shutouts. Overall he is 10-3-1-0 with a 2.77 goals-against-average and a.892 save percentage.

Van Buskirk leaves Utah after taking the loss in last night's 5-4 contest to Victoria, in which he allowed five goals on 30 shots. Overall, the rookie was 5-8-1-0 with a 3.39 goals-against-average and a.881 save percentage after starting the year 4-1.

Tonight the Grizzlies will start goaltender Beau Erickson, who will make his Utah debut after being acquired in a trade from Reading on December 21. With the first place Royals, the rookie was 3-2 with a 2.78 goals-against-average and a.915 save percentage.

Brooks had one goal and one assist for two points with Utah in ten games.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center tonight to host Victoria at 6:05 p.m.
