GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors continue their three-game series against the Florida Everblades at the BI-LO Center at 7:05 p.m. tonight. The Road Warriors won the season opener last night and are looking for their second straight win over the Everblades.

RECAPPING THE ACTION:

Nov. 11 - GRW 5 - FLA 4

After suffering two straight losses on the road to close out last weekend, the Road Warriors were happy to be back in the confines of the BI-LO Center. Greenville scored four straight first-period goals as they built a commanding lead. Julien Brouillette notched the team's first shorthanded goal of the season just over seven minutes in to open the scoring. Marc-Olivier Vallerand was in the box when Brouillette scored, and once he was free Vallerand scored on a breakaway just 26 seconds after Brouillette's goal. Connor Shields and Sean Berkstresser each chipped in first period goals to round out Greenville's scoring. Twenty four seconds after Berkstresser's goal, Mathieu Roy put Florida on the board with a long-range wrist shot that beat Nic Riopel. The teams traded a goal each in the second period with Matthew Pistilli cashing in for Florida and Shane Harper netting the Road Warriors' score. Greenville's three-goal lead would not last long in the third period with Florida's Alex Imbeault and Mitch Fadden scoring in the first 6:17 of the third. Florida continued its heavy pressure and out-shot the Road Warriors 13-3 in the final frame. Riopel was able to make enough saves and Greenville earned its fifth win of the season.

WHAT'S ON TAP FOR TONIGHT:

Greenville is atop the heap in the ECHL when it comes to winning at home. With last night's victory the Road Warriors are a league-leading 5-1-1 at the BI-LO Center and are working on a four-game winning streak. The Road Warriors have scored 17 goals and given up only eight goals over the course of the winning streak. Nic Riopel has been in net for each of the Road Warriors home victories. Florida is 3-4-0 on the road this season and is 1-2-0 at the BI-LO Center.

Julien Brouillette will look to continue his strong start to the season. With his goal last night he maintained his point-per game average and is the only defenseman in the ECHL scoring at that pace. He leads the Road Warriors, and ECHL defensemen, with five goals and is tied with Justin Bowers for the team lead in specialty teams points at five (3G, 2A). Brouillette joined Kalamazoo's Jon Landry as one of two defensemen to score a shorthanded goal this season.

Greenville's Paul McIlveen acclimated himself to his new surroundings fairly well last night. He assisted on Sean Berkstresser's first-period goal as he played his first pro game in North America since the 2009 Kelly Cup playoffs. McIlveen was a +1 and registered one shot on goal against the Everblades. He, along with Jimmy Kilpatrick and Brandon Wong, will continue to adapt to his new surroundings as he plays his second game with the Road Warriors tonight.

In celebration of Veterans' Day the Road Warriors are offering up free tickets to Armed Forces servicemen and women. One free ticket will be issued to servicemen and women who present identification.
