Goaltender Jamie Holden Returns to Falcons
December 28, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons have assigned rookie goaltender Jamie Holden to the Fresno Falcons.
Holden began the season in the ECHL but played just one game in a Fresno uniform. He received a call-up to the Barons immediately after back-stopping the Falcons to a 4-3 victory over the Stockton Thunder on Oct. 22 in his first professional start.
The Quinnipiac University product appeared in 13 games for Fresno's AHL affiliate and compiled a record of 5-6-0 with a 3.38 goals against average and .898 save percentage. Holden's five wins all came in a row, which established a new Barons team record for most consecutive wins by a goaltender. The streak led to him being named the AHL's Player of the Week during the first week of November, when he went 3-0-0 with a 1.62 goals against average and .952 save percentage.
In a pair of other player moves, the Falcons placed goaltender Mike Brown on seven-day injured reserve and released forward Scott Rozendal, who appeared in 13 games and recorded 22 penalty minutes.
The Falcons begin a six-game road trip this weekend when they visit the Bakersfield Condors on Friday before spending New Year's in Phoenix for a pair of games against the Phoenix RoadRunners on Saturday and Sunday. Following a trip to Victoria to face the Salmon Kings three times during the first week of January, Fresno finally returns home to Save Mart Center to battle the Florida Everblades on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m.
The game on Jan. 10 against Florida is a Carl's Jr. Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one coupons available at participating Carl's Jr. restaurants. Individual tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets and Save Mart Center's box office with prices ranging from $8 - $22. For complete ticket information and an arena map of Save Mart Center, visit www.fresnofalcons.com/singletickets.html, or contact the Falcons front office directly at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
