Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers came out flying Wednesday night against the Trenton Titans in front of 3,478 at the Nutter Center.
With a high tempo offense to start the game, it was only a matter of time before the Bombers would notch their first goal. That goal would come just seven minutes into the first period when DOMINIC NOEL scored off of an assist from MATT HERNEISEN. The Bombers would not look back, maintaining at least a one goal lead the rest of the game. The Bombers would add their second goal just 1:15 later when SCOTT CAMERON picked up the pass in the neutral zone and skated it in for a breakaway goal. Trenton managed to score one goal in the first period, as Scott Ford (#24) found the back of the net past a screened Gregg Naumenko. The Bombers would add one more goal in the first period as it was BRIAN GORNICK scoring a power play goal at the 17:57 mark, to send Dayton into the dressing room up by two goals.
For the Second Period, the Bombers would once again score first, as it was a goal by A.J. MacLean to make it a 4-1 hockey game. Just as in the first, Trenton would follow suit to score at the 4:37 mark to bring the game back within two goals. However, it was the power play goal by DOMINIC NOEL, his second of the night, at the 8:00 mark of the second that would end the scoring for the night. Neither team managed to score in the third period, sealing the Bombers 5-2 victory.
Bombers GM and Head Coach Don MacAdam was really pleased with the performance on the ice adding "I was very happy with the positive effort by all the guys, and they really played well in front of solid goaltending". "It is great to finally come home (to the Nutter Center) after being away for a while, and the enthusiasm of the great crowd tonight was really great."
The Bombers now improve to 8-16-3, and snapped a 6 game winless streak with the impressive win.
