CURVE, Pa. - Altoona Curve right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of July 13-July 19, the league announced on Monday.

Glasnow tied a career high with seven innings pitched at Richmond on Thursday and did not allow a run while setting a new season high with nine strikeouts. The Flying Squirrels were only able to manage three hits as Glasnow picked up his fourth win of the season in a 5-0 Curve victory.

Overall this season, Glasnow is 4-2 with a 2.12 ERA in 10 starts with the Curve, striking out 66 batters in 56.1 innings. He has not allowed a walk in his last two starts.

The outing against Richmond followed a six-inning, one-hit outing by Glasnow against Bowie on July 10 before the All-Star Break. The Newhall, Calif. native has not allowed a run over his last 13.1 innings pitched.

Glasnow is the first Altoona pitcher to be named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week this season. He is the third Curve player to receive a weekly award from the league this year, joining Max Moroff (April 27) and Josh Bell (May 3).
