DULUTH, Ga. - A night after the Solar Bears snapped the Gladiators' three game winning streak, Gwinnett will look to snatch back a W in their final home game before embarking on a weeklong road trip up north. The Gladiators have still won six of their last nine, and have won three of their five games so far in 2014.

In last night's contest, Marshall Everson, in his return to the ice after missing the last ten games from being on the injured reserve, scored the lone point for Gwinnett with his unassisted goal midwaythrough the first period. Brad Phillips was spectacular in relief of starter Paul Karpowich, as Phillips stopped 28 of 29 shots, but the Gladiators fell, 5-1, to the Solar Bears. Orlando improved to 4-0-0-1 against Gwinnett with their win.

Glads Notes:

This Guy's Good: Since joining the Gladiators on December 17th, Brad Phillips has been solid in the crease. He holds four wins in seven games with a 2.28 GAA and a .931 SV%. He picked up his first career shutout last week, holding the league's best team, South Carolina, scoreless on 39 shots faced.

Super Special Teams: In 2014, opponents are only 1-for-21 on their power plays against the Gladiators. Gwinnett had killed off 17 straight opposing power plays until Orlando snapped the streak last night. The Gladiators rank 6th in the ECHL, killing off 87.1% of opposing power plays. On the man advantage, Gwinnett has at least one power play tally in 11 of the last 15 games, going 11-for-43 (25.6%) over that stretch.

Staying Disciplined: Gwinnett is the third-least penalized team in the ECHL, averaging just 11.88 penalty minutes per game. Only the Elmira Jackals (10.63) and Cincinnati Cyclones (11.50) average fewer penalty minutes.

Streaking Glads: Alternate Captain Dirk Southern has seven points in his last four games (1g, 6a) ... Evan Bloodoff has eight points (6g, 2a) in his last nine games ... Forward Bobby Hughes has a goal and five assists over his last seven games, and has a three-game point streak ... Josh Currie has at least a point in six of his last ten games (4g, 5a) ... Defenseman Daniel Spivak has finished a game with a minus in only seven of his 30 games played this season, and hasn't gone below a -1.

Snippets: When scoring three or more goals the Gladiators are 12-3-0-1 ... Gwinnett is 10-0 when leading after two periods.
