
Three Power Play Goals Give Road Warriors 4-2 Win

Greenville, S.C.: A strong second period, along with three power play goals, launched the Road Warriors past the Evansville Icemen by a score of 4-2 on Saturday night.
Daulton Leveille began the scoring 8:36 into the game with a backhander that beat Connor Knapp glove side. Former Road Warriors Matt Schepke tallied the assists for Leveille's 11th of the year. Josh Nicholls tied the game at one on a 5-on-3 power play with a quick shot that beat IceMen goaltender Allen York. Mike Marcou threaded the needle on a pass to Nicholls for the assist moving his point streak to four games.
Just a minute into the second period, Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored on the power play with a deflection goal from a Marcou shot. Also tallying an assist on the goal was Ryan Hegarty. Halfway through the period, Scott Arnold scored from the slot after passes from Travis Ouellette and Sean Berkstresser. The period ended with Greenville leading 3-1.
The Road Warriors continued to score in the third with a goal seven minutes into the period when Andrew Rowe whistled a wrist shot past Allen to put the Road Warriors up 4-1. Knapp made 16 saves in the third period to help the Road Warriors maintain the lead. With 37 seconds left in the period, Evansville's Peter Sakaris scored on Knapp to bring the final score to 4-2. Knapp made 29 saves to bring his record back to .500 with a 7-7-2 record on the season.
The Road Warriors and the Evansville Icemen play their last game of the three-game weekend series tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
