Alaska Aces News Release

DALY CITY, Calif. - Peter Sivak earned a multi point game through the first 20 minutes of play but the San Francisco Bulls snuck by the Alaska Aces, 6-5 in overtime, before 2,108 fans at the Cow Palace on Friday.

The Aces, unable to hold a 3-0 lead in the second period, maintained a tie for first place in the Mountain Division with Colorado. Tommy Mele also collected two assists. Dean Ouellet scored twice for San Francisco and had a game winning goal just one minute into overtime.

It took just 18 seconds for the Aces to open the scoring when Eli Zuck stashed a rebound at the front of the net after Tyler Beskorowany stopped Mele's one-timer, on a centering pass by Sivak.

Sivak then buried a shorthanded goal - a wrist shot from the right circle at 13:37 - to hike the Aces lead to 2-0.

Just 1:25 later, Drew MacKenzie snuck a wrist shot past Beskorowany from the outside of the left circle and the Aces boasted a 3-0 lead.

The complexion changed in the second period when San Francisco rallied for five goals on 11 shots. Jordan Morrison cut the deficit to 3-1 at 8:49 and then Dale Mitchell's power play goal, a snipe under the crossbar on Gerald Coleman (2013-14 season debut), shaved the Aces lead to 3-2 at 9:31.

On the next shift, Mitchell finished a two-on-one break with a wrist shot from the right circle at 9:48 for a 3-3 tie. Just 32 seconds later, Dean Ouellet stashed a rebound at the right post and San Francisco took the lead after burying four goals in a span of 1:31.

Tim Coffman neutralized momentum when he scored his seventh goal of the season, a wrister off the rush that beat Beskorowany's blocker, with 5:28 left for a 4-4 tie. But Morrison responded for a 5-4 Bulls edge at 17:17 on a slapshot from the left circle.

Sivak received credit for his 11th goal at 2:57 of the third period for a 5-5 tie when he crashed the net and put a loose puck off Tommy Mele's knee and into the net. But after a scoreless stretch for the remainder of regulation that had both teams combining for 28 shots on goal, Ouellet ended the game when he buried an empty net rebound, following Coleman's stop on Morrison.

Coleman made 29 saves in his first appearance in net since the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
