Defenseman Ryan Grimshaw Heads to AHL

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that defenseman Ryan Grimshaw has been loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Grimshaw, 23, skated in 31 games with the Stingrays this season scoring one goal and six assists for seven points. The Rochester, New York, native attended training camp with the Americans before joining the Stingrays in October. Last season, Grimshaw dressed in two Kelly Cup Playoff contests with the Stingrays after being assigned to the team from the Toronto Marlies (AHL). He began the 2012-13 campaign with the Trenton Titans (ECHL) picking up three goals and three assists for six points in 23 games before moving up to Toronto, grabbing one assist in 16 contests.
In 2011-12, the 6-foot, 195-pound defenseman played in three games with the Americans following a four-year collegiate career at Harvard University.
The Stingrays battle the Florida Everblades tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida and return to the North Charleston Coliseum to host the Greenville Road Warriors on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:05 p.m. for 2x2 Tuesday presented by Bud Light!
