Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Fort Wayne Komets
January 11, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
It won't be a galaxy far, far away, but rather Wings Stadium where the Kalamazoo Wings and the Fort Wayne will meet during Star Wars Night. Tonight will be the first of three straight games between the teams and the second this week. The force was with the K-Wings on Wednesday during a 3-2 overtime victory.
Kalamazoo's four-game overall unbeaten streak was snapped last night on the road against the Cincinnati Cyclones. While one streak ended, the K-Wings will be trying to extend another streak this evening, as Kalamazoo is unbeaten in regulation at Wings Stadium in their last four games (3-0-1-0).
Like the K-Wings, the Komets come into this evening looking to extend a streak. Fort Wayne hasn't lost in regulation in five straight games (3-0-2-0). With 35 points, Fort Wayne is in fourth place in the North Division and is two points behind Kalamazoo for third.
