Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, will be joining forces with the Kalamazoo County Animal Services for the Animal Services Adopt-a-Thon on Wednesday, November 9th from 2-6 p.m.

The Adopt-a-Thon will serve as a kick off for the "Home for the Holidays" campaign. This is the third year that the Kalamazoo County Animal Services has participated in this national campaign whose goal is to bring as many animals home for the holidays as possible. This year, Animal Services has set the goal to give homes to 300 animals during the months of November and December.

The K-Wings hope to play a part in accomplishing this goal. For the second year, the K-Wings will be on hand to help find these pets a home. Slappy, Josh Elzinga, Adam Elzinga, Lee Ruff and Tommy Kotsopolous will be at Animal Services, which is located at 2500 Lake Street, to help out with the event.

If you can't make it to the Adopt-a-Thon, Animal Services will bring one lucky dog out to each of the Kalamazoo Wings home games this season to participate in the K-Wings Hockey Pups promotion. The dog gets to meet the fans and find a new family. Last year, K-Wings fans adopted all 43 dogs that came through the stadium doors.
