Danbury Trashers News Release

DANBURY, CT-Tough losses at the Danbury Ice Arena last Friday and Sunday to Quad City and Roanoke dampened the elation over a big road win against the Adirondack Frostbite on Saturday as the Trashers took just two of a possible six points during the third week of the 2005-06 season.

Despite an unbeaten road record of 3-0-1 this season, the Danbury Trashers have been unable to duplicate their successful ventures away from home at their home ice as their losses to the Mallards and Vipers occurred on the Danbury Arena's ice surface. The Trashers are just 1-2-0 at home this season.

In their quest to establish consistency, the Trashers have a big week ahead as they'll face Muskegon on Friday night and Kalamazoo on Saturday, both games on the road.

TRASHERS WEEK IN REVIEW

TRASHERS FALL 4-3 TO ROANOKE FOLLOWING BEAUREGARD HAT TRICK NOVEMBER 6, 2005 DANBURY, CT--David Beauregard led the UHL last season with 47 goals and he showed again why he is a top scorer with a hat trick before a crowd of 1,849 at the Danbury Ice Arena on Sunday night as the Roanoke Valley Vipers topped the Trashers 4-3.

The Vipers didn't play the last two nights because of ice issues at home, while the Trashers returned home following a physical road win against Adirondack last night, and the fresher legs of the Vipers showed early and late. Beauregard's first goal came at the 1:29 mark of the first period from Mark Scott and Petr Jelinek on the power play.

Danbury's lead was short lived as the Vipers scored a pair of goals 1:23 apart from Jelinek and Beauregard to give the Vipers a 3-2 lead. However, the Trashers tied the score at 3-3 with just three seconds remaining in the period as David Hymovitz netted his 3rd of the year.

A combined 22 minutes were handed out, including penalties on the Roanoke goaltender Shawn Conschafter for leaving the net to join a scrum, while Brad Wingfield was issued a match penalty.
