RiverDogs weekly update

November 7, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Richmond RiverDogs News Release

November 2, 2005 @ Elmira

Rookie Rafal Martynowski's two goal night, a three point night from Dan Vandermeer and solid goaltending from Mike D'Alessandro powered the Richmond RiverDogs to their first win of the season in defeating Elmira 4-2. D'Alessandro was a rock between the pipes, stopping a league high 49 shots and was 44 seconds away from posting a shutout before a pair of goals from Elmira 26 seconds apart that cut the Richmond lead to 3-2. David Brosseau sealed the victory with his first goal of the season, an empty net tally with just 10 seconds left in the match. Dan Vandermeer continues his outstanding play, contributing a goal and two assists and a +3. The Captain has scored a point in five of the team's six games this season. Martynowski posted his second and third of the season and is tied along with Warren Cooper in Power Play goals with two. Attendance: 3,062.
