DiPace earns UHL honor

RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond RiverDogs, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that forward John DiPace has been named Sher-wood UHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 9, 2006. The third year pro from Clinton Township, MI, DiPace scored five goals, 4assists for 9 points and a whopping +10 in Richmond's five games last week. DiPace set a RiverDogs record by scoring two goals in 0:23 seconds in Richmond's 6-4 loss to Danbury on April 8th, which was also his 24th birthday. In that game, DiPace collected three points and was a +4, DiPace is having a terrific season. In 71 games, John has scored 31 goals, 34 assists for 65 points, and all career highs. He is 7 penalty minutes away from tying his single season high 229 minutes, set last season when DiPace was a member of the Flint Generals.

The RiverDogs continue the final road trip of the regular season on Wednesday when the boys take on the Roanoke Valley Vipers at 7:00 pm. After the Vipers game, Richmond will travel Quad City for a Friday night contest beginning at 7:00pm. The regular season will conclude on Saturday as the RiverDogs face the Missouri River Otters at 7:00 pm.
