
Gistedt Recalled To San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (February 3, 2010) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled goaltender Joel Gistedt from the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL).
Gistedt, 22, has appeared in nine games for Las Vegas this season, posting a record of 1-5-1, a save percentage of.862 and a 4.62 goals against average (GAA).
Last season, the 5-foot-11, 174-pound netminder posted a record of 10-15-0 with a 4.15 GAA,.873 save percentage and one shutout in 29 games with the Arizona Sundogs (CHL). He appeared in one game with San Antonio, making his AHL debut on November 8, 2008, against Quad City, entering the game at the start of the third period and stopping 7 of 9 shots faced.
In 2007-08, Gistedt posted a 3.84 GAA and a.857 save percentage in 11 games for Frolunda HC of the Swedish Elite League. He led Sweden to a fourth place finish at the 2007 World Junior Championships, posting a 1-4-0 record, 1.96 GAA and.912 save percentage.
The Uddevalla, Sweden native was named the top-ranked European goaltender by NHL Central Scouting in 2007 and was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the second round, 36th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Gistedt will join the Rampage in Hamilton today due to Rampage goaltender Justin Pogge's emergency recall to the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.
