Wolves Assists Reading Program

Chicago Wolves center RILEY HOLZAPFEL and defenseman MIKE VERNACE will make four appearances next Wednesday, February 10, at libraries around Chicagoland as part of the Wolves "Read to Succeed" program, presented by Pace and Vista Health System.

The appearances are scheduled for:

Wed., Feb. 10:

Riley Holzapfel Niles Public Library District 6960 W. Oakton St. 4:30 p.m.

Morton Grove Public Library 6140 Lincoln Ave. 6:30 p.m.

Mike Vernace Acorn Public Library 15624 Central Ave. 4:30 p.m.

Orland Park Public Library 14921 S. Ravinia Ave. 7:00 p.m.

HOLZAPFEL and VERNACE will discuss the role that reading and education play in their lives as professional athletes and emphasize the importance of recreational reading. The Wolves players will also dress a child in hockey equipment, raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.

The "Read to Succeed" program encourages kids to take advantage of the resources that libraries have to offer and to set reading goals for themselves. Once they have achieved their goals, they will be rewarded with prizes including Wolves T-shirts, pennants and tickets to upcoming Wolves games.

Throughout the season, nearly 100 libraries and 30,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making close to 30 appearances at libraries in the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems.
