Ducks Assign Nick Boynton To Moose

The Anaheim Ducks today announced they have assigned defenceman Nick Boynton to the Manitoba Moose.

Boynton, 31, has played in 42 games so far this season with the Anaheim Ducks where he has recorded seven points (1g & 6a) along with 59 penalty minutes. The Nobleton, ON native has played in 547 career NHL games with Boston, Phoenix, Florida and Anaheim where he has collected 135 points (33g & 102a) along with 810 penalty minutes.

The 6'2 right-handed defenseman has also played in 131 career AHL games over two seasons with the Providence Bruins (99-00/00-01). In that span, he scored 52 points (11g & 41a) while racking up 171 penalty minutes.

Boynton was originally drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round, ninth overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Upon re-entering the draft in 1999, he was taken in the first round, 21st overall, by the Boston Bruins.
