Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the San Antonio Rampage 4-0 on Wednesday night at Copps Coliseum. The win was the âDogs fifth win in a row and Curtis Sanford's fourth shutout of the season as he made 22 saves.
The âDogs opened the scoring at 11:14 of the first period. Tom Pyatt sent a pass to David Desharnais, who fed the puck across the crease to Brock Trotter. Trotter flipped a shot over a sprawled San Antonio starting goaltender Josh Tordjman.
The âDogs earned a 2-0 lead at 1:18 of the second stanza. P.K. Subban fired a shot from the point that bounced off the leg of a San Antonio defender and onto the stick of Mike Glumac. Glumac proceeded to slide the puck between the legs of Tordjman and into the back of the net. Subban gave Hamilton a 3-0 lead at 9:56. Trotter fed a cross-ice pass to David Desharnais, who wired a shot on net that was stopped by Tordjman. Subban stuffed the loose rebound beneath Tordjman and over the goal line.
Desharnais scored at 3:08 of the final frame to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead. Brock Trotter received the puck from Andre Benoit while positioned in the left corner of the Rampage's zone. Trotter then dished the puck to Deshanrais, who was stationed at the right faceoff circle. Desharnais rifled a shot over the glove of Tordjman and into the top of the net.
