Vancouver Giants celebrate a goal against the Prince George Cougars

Prince George, B.C. - Wednesday night at the CN Centre in Prince George, the Vancouver Giants (7-3-1-0) earned a 5-3 victory over the Prince George Cougars (6-7-0-0). Adam Hall (2G, 1A) paced the Giants attack with three points while Justin Sourdif (2A), Alex Cotton (1G, 1A) and Connor Horning (1G, 1A) all added two points each. The power play clicked three times for the Giants on six opportunities. Between the pipes Jesper Vikman stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced for Prince George while Tyler Brennan made 33 saves for Prince George. The Cougars got goals from Caden Brown, Bauer Dumanski and Craig Armstrong.
1st Period
VAN - At 11:12, Ty Halaburda opened the scoring for Vancouver on the tail-end of a power play. Halaburda's second of the season came off a one-timer from the left-wing circle. Jaden Lipinski and Connor Horning both earned the assists.
VAN - One minute and 23 seconds later, Alex Cotton (5) recorded his first goal as a Giant off the rush from the right wing. Adam Hall started the play with a pass to Justin Sourdif, who then gained the Cougars zone and feathered a perfect cross-ice feed to Cotton who did the rest.
PG - Late in the period, Craig Armstrong put Prince George on the board with a breakaway goal at 17:53. Caden Brown had the lone helper on Armstrong's fifth goal of the season.

2nd Period
VAN - 3:46 into the second Connor Horning moved the Giants ahead by two when he banged home an Ethan Semeniuk rebound that came off a delayed penalty. Julian Cull earned the second assist.
PG - Caden Brown made it a 3-2 game when he one-timed home a Carter MacAdams feed from the slot. For the rookie it marked his second goal of the season and it came at 6:06.
Cougar defenceman Jaren Brinson was assessed a five-minute major penalty/game misconduct for a one-man fight, giving the Giants a full five-minute major power play.
VAN - Adam Hall secured the game's game winning goal at 6:58. Hall took a feed in the neutral zone, crossed the Prince George blueline and wired home a high shot over Tyler Brennan's right shoulder.
VAN - Adam Hall wasn't done. At 8:44 he parked himself in front of the Cougar net, and tipped home an Alex Cotton point shot for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Justin Sourdif earned the second assist on the Giants third power play goal of the game.
PG - The game's final goal came courtesy of rookie defenceman Bauer Dumanski at 12:11 off a point shot through a screen. Craig Armstrong and Koehn Ziemmer both drew the helpers.

- The Giants improved their road record to 2-2-1-0 and their overall record against Prince George to 3-1 thanks to Wednesday's win.
- Justin Sourdif returned to the Giants lineup after missing Tuesday's game with a lower body injury. Sourdif's two assists gave him his seventh multi-point game of the season.
- In three games against the Prince George Cougars, Justin Sourdif has notched eight points (2G, 6A).
- 12 of the 41 goals this season for the Giants have come via defencemen.
- Jesper Vikman improved his record to 6-1-1-0 thanks to his 27 save victory on Wednesday.
