Elmira Jackals News Release
One day after being named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, Dustin Gazley was selected to the 2011-2012 All-ECHL First Team, the league announced on Thursday.
Gazley leads all league skaters with 81 points (23g-58a) with two games left in the regular season. He went on a 10-game assist streak (3g-13a) from Mar. 3 - 25, the longest such streak in the league in 2011-2012. Gazley went on a 15-game point streak from Feb. 3 - 29 (8g-14a), which is tied for the longest in the ECHL this season. The 23-year-old collected the ECHL Rookie of the Month award for February and received ECHL Player of the Week honors for Jan. 2 - 8.
Prior to skating professionally, Gazley played four seasons at Michigan State University (NCAA, D-I) from 2006-2010, posting 30 goals and 43 assists for 73 points in 153 career games.
Gazley is the third Jackal to be named to the All-ECHL First Team since the club joined the league in 2007-2008. Tyler Donati earned the honor in his ECHL MVP season of 2009-2010, while Eric Regan received the award in 2010-2011, on his way to being named ECHL Defenseman of the Year.
