All-ECHL Second Team Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL Second Team for 2011-12 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.

G - Joe Fallon, Las Vegas Wranglers (47 gp, 30-10-4, 2.39 GAA, .912 save pct.)

D - Andrew Hotham, Wheeling Nailers (50 gp, 8g, 33a, 41 pts., +9)

D - Johann Kroll, South Carolina Stingrays (61 gp, 8g, 23a, 31 pts., +19)

F - Justin Bowers, Greenville Road Warriors (67 gp, 19g, 58a, 77 pts., +1)

F - Dan Kissel, Alaska Aces (68 gp, 35g, 32a, 67 pts., +10)

F - Adam Miller, Las Vegas Wranglers (69 gp, 30g, 50a, 80 pts., +18)

Coach - Jason Christie, Ontario Reign

The ECHL will announce the Community Service Award winner on Friday.

Joe Fallon of the Las Vegas Wranglers is second in the league lead with 30 wins, making him one of just 48 goaltenders in the ECHL's 24-year history to win at least 30 games in a season. He is tied for fifth in the ECHL with a 2.39 goals-against average, ranks 11th with a .912 save percentage and is tied for fourth with three shutouts. Fallon has also seen action in 10 American Hockey League games this season with Bridgeport and Houston where he is 5-2-0 with one shutout, a 2.09 goals-against average and a save percentage of .925.

Andrew Hotham of the Wheeling Nailers, who was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team yesterday, is second among rookie defensemen, and seventh among all blueliners, with 41 points (8g-33a). His 33 assists are tied for sixth among the league's first-year players as well as among all defensemen.

Johann Kroll of the South Carolina Stingrays has set a career high with 31 points (8g-23a) in 61 games this season. He is tied for third among defensemen in plus-minus at +19.

Justin Bowers of the Greenville Road Warriors is tied for the league lead with 58 assists and is third in the league with 77 points. He leads the ECHL with 25 power-play assists and 32 power-play points. Bowers, who was named ECHL Player of the Month for January, also appeared in two American Hockey League games with Milwaukee.

Dan Kissel of the Alaska Aces ranks second in the ECHL with 35 goals and is tied for seventh with 67 points. He is second in the league with 269 shots and is tied for seventh with 10 power-play goals. Kissel also saw action in two games with Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.

Adam Miller of the Las Vegas Wranglers is making his second appearance on the All-Second Team after also being named to the team in 2009-10 . He is second in the league with 80 points, fourth with 50 assists and tied for fifth with 30 goals. His 246 shots are fifth in the league and he is tied for 14th in plus-minus at +18.

Jason Christie has led the Ontario Reign to first place in the Pacific Division with a record of 41-20-8 for 90 points, and back to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2009. Christie, who previously coached in the ECHL with Peoria and Utah, ranks fourth in league history with 348 career wins.
