Adirondack Thunder News Release
WHO: Adirondack Thunder (32-20-3-3) @ Manchester Monarchs (33-19-3-2)
WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME #769
WHEN: Saturday, March 3, 2018 @ 6:00 PM
WHERE: SNHU Arena - Manchester, NH
TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Adirondack Thunder and Manchester Monarchs are back at it this evening as they square off in round two at SNHU Arena. Adirondack claimed the first matchup as it was victorious last evening by a 6-1 final over Manchester with several season highs set in the victory.
SOUNDS LIKE A BROKEN RECORD: The Adirondack Thunder set several season-highs in last night's win over Manchester. Adirondack's six goals scored marked the third time this season it has scored six and the team's 12 assists and 18 points set season highs. The five-goal victory was also the largest win of the season and the largest overall since April 7, 2017, a 7-1 win over Elmira.
DRIVE THEM INSHANE: Adirondack forward Shane Conacher led the way last evening as he netted a career-high five points in the victory. Conacher collected four assists, also a career best, and found the back of the net with an insurance tally late in the third period. The 5-11 winger has now amassed 48 points (12-36-48) from 41 games played and his 1.17 points-per-game ranks sixth in the ECHL amongst players with 40-or-more games played.
LIKE TROY SOLDIERS: Thunder forward Troy Bourke collected a season-high four points in last night's win. Bourke had two goals and two assists, with his two goals matching his ECHL career-high. The Alberta native has now accumulated 18 points (6-12-18) from nine games played on the season and the Thunder are 7-1-1 when Bourke is in the lineup.
FROM THE WINDOW TO THE WALLIN: Adirondack forward Terrence Wallin picked up four points of his own yesterday to extend his road scoring streak to ten games. Wallin scored the game-winning goal and tallied three assists as he set an ECHL career-high in both assists and goals in a game. The UMass-Lowell graduate has amassed eight points (2-6-8) over his last four games played.
DON'T MIND IF I DREW: Thunder goaltender Drew Fielding earned the win last evening as he made 37 saves on 38 shots against. The victory was his 14th of the season, an ECHL single-season high, and pushed his 2017-18 record to 14-8-2. The 37 stops for Fielding tied his second highest save total of the season and marked his third straight start with three or less goals allowed.
TIGHT AT THE TOP: The North Division continues to be the tightest division in the ECHL with the top four teams separated by just seven points and five of six teams over a .500 winning percentage. Adirondack moved to within one point of the division lead with yesterday's victory and would see the top of the standings for the first time since January 30 with a win over Manchester this evening.
