Cincinnati, OH - The Cincinnati Cyclones (32-21-2-0) earned a 5-2 win over the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night. Forwards Winston Day Chief, Mike Barrett, Rob De Fulviis and Alex Kile, along with defenseman Eric Knodel scored the goals for the Cyclones, who have won four games in a row.

The Cyclones jumped out to a 1-0 lead 13:09 into the first when forward Brandon McNally found Day Chief in the low slot, and he slammed it in after a couple of whacks past Mallards netminder Eric Hartzell for his fourth goal in the last two games. Quad City responded with a power play tally of their own roughly four minutes later when Brayden Low pulled the Mallards even, 1-1.

Cincinnati stole the momentum back with 1:55 remaining in the opening period when Kile sent the puck towards the front of the net and it was redirected in by Barrett, giving the Cyclones a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

The Cyclones tacked on another late in the second when forward Vaclav Karabacek sent a pass from the left circle to Knodel who was streaking down the slot, and he snapped a wrister in past Hartzell to give Cincinnati a 3-1 lead after two periods.

The Cyclones pushed their advantage to three early in the third when a point shot by defenseman Mitch Nylen was deflected in by De Fulviis to give Cincinnati a 4-1 lead, 3:18 into the frame.

After Quad City pulled back to within a pair at 4-2 on a goal from forward Gergo Nagy, the Cyclones put the game away at the 5:15 mark Kile took a pass from De Fulviis and snapped a shot in from the right circle to seal Cincinnati's 5-2 win.
