Orlando looks to start a new streak tonight after Thursday's 4-3 loss to Gwinnett saw the Solar Bears fall in regulation at home for the first time this season. The Solar Bears surrendered two goals in quick succession in the first period, and trailed 4-2 going into the third. A late goal by F Ryan Ginand gave the Solar Bears a chance to tie the contest, but Gwinnett held on for the 4-3 victory. Elmira was in action last night, suffering a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Florida Everblades.The Jackals got out to a strong start, but Florida took control of the game in the final frame with three third period goals en route to the 5-3 victory.
Military Appreciation Weekend:
The Solar Bears are hosting Military Appreciation Weekend at the Amway Center tonight and tomorrow in honor of our nation's active and veteran military members. Special elements include:

The Solar Bears have lost just one home game in regulation... C Ryan Cruthers is two points shy of 250 in his ECHL career... The Solar Bears are facing a team from outside the South Division for the first time this season... F Ryan Ginand had his first multiple goal game as a Solar Bear on Thursday. He leads the league with 60 shots on goal... Orlando is undefeated (3-0-0-0) when scoring the game's first goal... The Solar Bears will wear special military themed jerseys this weekend.

F Artem Demkov leads the ECHL with four power play goals... The Jackals are currently leading the Atlantic Division with a 6-4-0-0 record... Elmira has the top ranked power play in the league, converting on 29.7 percent of their chances (11-for-37). They also own the best penalty kill in the league, killing off 92.1 percent of the their penalties.
