Last time they met: The Blades and Vancouver Giants met in their lone encounter of last season on November 27th, 2018, at the Langley Events Centre in British Columbia. The Giants defeated Saskatoon 5-3 as import Milos Roman starred with a goal and an assist.
What it means for Saskatoon: Last home outing the Blades managed a point in a shootout loss against the Brandon Wheat Kings - Saskatoon still needs their first win in front of their home fans.
The stat: 7. Another game this past Sunday, another one-goal result. We're up to 7 one-goal results now.
The match-up: Bowen Byram vs Saskatoon's coverage - Byram, the 4th overall selection at the 2019 NHL Draft, is Vancouver's most dynamic player on a roster filled with dynamic players. The third year defenseman already has 6 points (1G-5A), with 19 shots on goal, in 5 games played since being returned by the Colorado Avalanche on September 26th. It will be up to the Blades' forwards and defenders to work out who has the responsibility of manning Byram when he jumps in the play and acts as a 4th forward.
It's a big night for: Jerzy Orchard. If Orchard dresses, the game will be his first at SaskTel Centre since being acquired by the Blades on September 25th. Orchard, who is originally from Delisle, Saskatchewan, should have a great number of family and friends in the crowd if he is to play.
Winning Wednesday: Buy 1 ticket and receive a 2nd for just $2. Then if the Blades win, everyone at the game will receive a free ticket voucher on their way out for the next Blades home game. Buy a raffle ticket for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Jersey raffle and you will also have a chance to win a game worn jersey from that very night from the player of your choice.
