Spokane Chiefs News Release

Spokane, Wash. - Spokane Chiefs captain Ty Smith has been named to the Vaughn CHL Team of the Week, as announced by the Canadian Hockey League on Tuesday afternoon. The recognition came just after Smith was named WHL Player of the Week.

Smith, returning to the club after attending training camp with the New Jersey Devils, needed little time to adjust to game action as he came away with six points (3G-3A) in a trio of appearances. The high-water mark was Smith's season debut against the Seattle Thunderbirds in which he collected three points and claimed first-star honors.

A first-round pick of the Devils in 2018, Smith has appeared in 197 regular season games with the Chiefs, piling up 182 points including 153 assists, good for 14th in franchise history.
