LAST NIGHT: The Indians scored a season-high 13 runs on a season-high tying 18 hits last night to beat Iowa, 13-1. Of the 18 hits, 11 were for extra bases (six doubles, five home runs). Tucupita Marcano and Cole Tucker led off the game with back-to-back home runs en route to a four-run top of the first inning. In the next frame, Bligh Madris homered with one on base and two outs to extend the lead, 6-0. Michael Chavis led off the fourth inning with a long ball of his own, his second in as many nights, and the Indians extended their lead to 10-0 off a pinch-hit, two-run single by Chris Sharpe to cap a three-run sixth inning. Iowa recorded its first hit of the night in the sixth inning and plated its lone run in the eighth. The Indians then put up three additional runs in the ninth inning, highlighted by Tucker's second long ball of the night.

NO HITS ALLOWED: Indianapolis native Dillon Peters made his second start with his hometown team last night and did not allow a hit over five innings of work. Peters, who is currently being stretched back out to a starting role, allowed just three baserunners on two walks and a hit batter over his outing before exiting the game with a substantial lead to earn the win. It was his first win with Indianapolis and his third of the season split between Indy and Triple-A Salt Lake. Peters, as a starter with Salt Lake in 2019, held an opponent scoreless through five or more innings four times. On April 7, 2019, he surrendered just one run over 5.1 scoreless innings at Triple-A Albuquerque, .

TOUCH 'EM ALL... AGAIN: The Indians have combined for 11 home runs over their past two games, six on Friday and five last night. Since tying a Victory Field era high with seven home runs on July 6, 2017 at Columbus, the Indians had not hit more than four home runs in a game until Friday night. Seven different Indians batters launched home runs over the two games, with Anthony Alford, Hunter Owen and Cole Tucker each notching multi-home run games and Michael Chavis hitting one in each effort. Indianapolis has scored 25 runs over 18 innings of baseball, with 15 of those runs coming via the long ball.

TUCKER FOR TWO: Cole Tucker went 2-for-6 with two home runs last night during the Indians home run parade. It was his second multi-home run game this season, both of which have come on the road (also: June 12 at Nashville). He is the second Indians batter to have a pair of two-homer games this season, following Will Craig (May 11 vs. Toledo, June 25 at Louisville). Tucker's first home run was the second in a back-to-back effort by him and leadoff hitter Tucupita Marcano in the first inning, the Indians fourth back-to-back feat of the season.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Michael Chavis hit his second home run in as many nights to lead off the fourth inning last night and ended the game with three extra-base hits, a home run and two doubles. Chavis has hit safely in all four games played with the Indians so far, going 7-for-16 with six extra-base hits. His home runs in back-to-back games was his second such stretch this season (also: June 11-12 at Triple-A Syracuse) and his three extra-base hits were his most since May 4, 2019 at Chicago (AL).

JUST KEEP HITTING: With his leadoff home run last night, Tucupita Marcano extended his hitting streak to seven consecutive games with the Indians dating back to July 30. In that span, he owns a .290 average (9-for-31) with a triple, home run, RBI and four walks to four strikeouts. Marcano has hit safely in eight of his nine games played with the Indians since being traded from San Diego to Pittsburgh in the deal that sent Adam Frazier to the Padres.

OLIVA DOUBLES: Jared Oliva went 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles last night to extend his hitting streak to five games since joining the Indians on Aug. 3. It was his first career game with more than one double and his seventh with multiple extra-base hits. In his last six games, Oliva is hitting .368 (15-for-67) with four doubles.

TODAY: The Indians will look for their fourth consecutive win at Principal Park since losing the first three games of the series today at 2:08 PM ET. The I-Cubs now hold a one-game lead this season vs. the Indians and can end the season with at least a split on their home field. The Indians haven't finished with less than a winning record at Iowa since 1995 (4-5). In a rematch of Game 1, RHP Beau Sulser will face off against RHP Joe Biagini. Biagini earned the win in that matchup with 5.1 scoreless innings, and Sulser took the loss despite tossing a quality start.

SHAKING IT UP: Along with Anthony Alford's contract being selected by Pittsburgh, the Pirates announced yesterday that outfielder Dustin Fowler has been released and infielder T.J. Rivera has been traded outright to Philadelphia (Triple-A Lehigh Valley). Fowler was just reinstated from the injured list and hit .270 (10-for-37) with three home runs and six RBI in 13 games with Indianapolis this season. Rivera appeared in 57 games with the Indians and hit .249 (48-for-193) with five home runs and 24 RBI.
