Home Sweet Home: The Mavericks have been downright dominant at home in the early running this season, outscoring opponents 12-3 through two games at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena en route to a 2-0 record on home ice. Jared VanWormer has thrived in the Mavs' barn, recording six points (2g, 4a) in two games in Independence on the year.

We Want The Cup: A two-year run of series victories over Wichita came to an end during the 2017-18 season, the Thunder taking five of nine contests against the Mavericks. Kansas City took four of the final six but a slow start cost the Mavs the season series.

Jump Men Up To Somethin': Mavericks Jordans (Ernst and Klimek) each netted their first-career professional goals on Saturday against Indy. Ernst's came in the first period, the eventual game-winner, and Klimek's was the sixth on the night for the Mavericks.

Free Willie: Willie Raskob enters tonight's game with a four-game scoring streak, totaling five assists in that span.

Offensive Explosion: After conceding the opening goal, the Mavericks rattled off four before the horn sounded on the first period. It was the first time since March 18 of last season that KC scored four in a frame (8-0 win over Quad City) and the first time since Feb. 25, 2017 that the Mavs scored four in the first (5-4 loss to Idaho).

Matchup To Watch: Mavs power play against Thunder penalty kill. A strength-versus-strength matchup pits the league's ninth-best power play unit against the top PK group. Kansas City enters tonight's game clicking at a 37.5-percent clip at home, second-best in the league, while the Thunder are a perfect 26-for-26 with the opponent having the man advantage.
