TONIGHT: The Orlando Solar Bears (4-3-0-0) play the first match of this weekend's two-game set on the road against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (2-5-1-0). Orlando plays Greenville a total of nine times this season. Last season the Solar Bears took the regular season series with a 5-3-1-0 record against the Swamp Rabbits.
GOGOL TO PLAY ON BLUE LINE TONIGHT: Veteran skater Curt Gogol will make his Solar Bears debut tonight as a defenseman. Gogol has played primarily at forward over the course of his eight-year career, but has occasionally been used along the blue line. He will be paired with Michael Brodzinski for tonight's game. Gogol previously played with Brodzinski's older brother - Jonny Brodzinski - during the 2015-16 season as a member of the AHL's Ontario Reign.
BOURKE TO BOLSTER FORWARD DEPTH: The Solar Bears have received some reinforcements from the Syracuse Crunch in the form of forward Troy Bourke, who was reassigned to Orlando earlier in the week. Bourke has played over 200 games at the AHL level, but posted 32 points (10g-22a) in 22 games with the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder last season.
McGURTY TO MAKE SEASON DEBUT: Defenseman Myles McGurty is expected to dress for his first pro game tonight for Orlando. The blueliner played last season for Dalhousie University, where he was a teammate of Solar Bears goalie Corbin Boes.
BEREHOWSKY CLOSING IN ON CENTURY MARK: With 96 career wins behind the bench of the Solar Bears, Drake Berehowsky is already the winningest head coach in the team's ECHL tenure. He is only four wins away from joining former IHL Solar Bears bench boss Curt Fraser as the second head coach of a professional hockey team in Orlando to reach the century mark in coaching wins.
NEXT GAME: The Solar Bears complete their weekend series with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Orlando's next home game will be the team's School Day Game against the Jacksonville Icemen on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
