Steelheads Shut out by Walleye, 4-0

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Idaho Steelheads (4-4-1) were shutout 4-0 by the Toledo Walleye (6-1-1) on Friday night from Huntington Center.

The Walleye scored early in the game at 1:26 of the first period on a shot from forward Greg Wolfe to take a 1-0 lead and was followed by a goal from forward Shane Berschbach at 6:59, doubling the lead to 2-0. The Steelheads leveled off through much of the first period, however a power play goal by Walleye forward A.J. Jenks tripled the home advantage, 3-0.

After a scoreless but physical second period, the Walleye added another goal at 2:10 of the third period from forward T.J. Hensick, putting the game out of reach in a 4-0 defeat of the Steelheads. Walleye goaltender Pat Nagle (4-0-1) stopped all 27 shots in the win, while Steelheads netminder Philippe Desrosiers (2-3-1) halted 27 of 31 shots in the loss.

The Steelheads finish their weekend against the Walleye on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 5:15 p.m. MT from Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. Coverage begins at 4:55 p.m. MT on 1350-AM KTIK and ECHL TV.
