TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The second of three meetings and the first of two here. Richmond thumped Wheeling 6-0 in December. Marc Magliarditi stopped 27 shots and Peter Hogan scored two goals. Wheeling is coached by John Brophy, the former Hampton Roads Admirals head coach and the winningest coach in minor pro hockey history. The ‘Gades are in a fifth place tie in the Northeast Division with Reading, two points behind fourth place Trenton. The Nailers are fifth in the Northwest, six behind Lexington.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades drilled Greenville 5-0 here Sunday. Marc Magliarditi made 32 saves. Five ‘Gades scored goals. Jon Zion and Lars Pettersen each had four assists. Richmond was 2-4 on the power play and 7-7 on the penalty kill. The Nailers lost 2-0 at home to Peoria Sunday. Wheeling fired 41 shots at Alfie Michaud

‘GADES NOTES: The Renegades finished a stretch of five games in six nights and eight in 10 Sunday. Richmond picked up their third shutout and Marc Magliarditi's second in the win over Greenville Sunday. Magliarditi now has 124 career ECHL wins, seventh best in league history. Lars Pettersen and Jon Zion each equaled a club season high with four assists in the win over the Grrrowl. They also equaled a club season high for points in a game with four (Richard Pitirri had four assists vs. Augusta in November and David Brosseau had a four point night vs. Reading in November). Pettersen had the club's third hat trick of the season and his first in the win vs. South Carolina Wednesday. Pettersen equaled a club season high with a nine game scoring streak that ended Saturday. Dan Vandermeer had the club's first two "Gordie Howe Hat Trick's" of the season (goal, assist, fight) Tuesday vs. South Carolina and Sunday vs. Greenville. Zion twice returned from AHL call-ups last week. He has played in 12 games in three stints with Cincinnati. Jayme Filipowicz remains on re-call to St. John. Five ‘Gades have played in the AHL this season. Richmond wraps up a four game homestand Wednesday. Tyler Palmer picked up his first point as a Renegade with an assist at Greensboro Friday. Ian Turner scored his first pro goal Sunday vs. Greenville. Peter Hogan equaled a pro career high with his seventh goal (scored Sunday vs. Greenville). Nick Lent's three game scoring streak ended Saturday. The ‘Gades allowed a season high seven goals vs. Greensboro Friday. The ‘Gades have not allowed a power play goal in their last five wins. They have allowed 10 power play goals in their last four losses. Three of the ‘Gades last four wins have come by shutout. Richmond has lost their last three overtime/shootout decisions after winning their first seven. The ‘Gades were shutout at home for the first time this season in Saturday's loss to Atlantic City.

NAILERS NOTES: Wheeling is 5-4-1 in their last 10 games. Three of their last four losses have been shutouts at home. Chris McNamera will represent Wheeling in the All Star Game. The Nailers are 2-7-1 vs. Northeast Division opponents.
