Change Announced to Southern Roster For Compuware/ECHL All-Star Game

PRINCETON, N.J. – The East Coast Hockey League on Wednesday announced a roster change for the 2003 Compuware/ECHL All-Star Game to be played at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

The game and the skills competition at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday will be hosted by the Florida Everblades at TECO Arena in Estero, Fla. For tickets, telephone (239) 948-7825 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com.

Louisiana rookie defenseman Rod Sarich will replace teammate Kevin Mitchell, who was voted as a starter for the Southern Conference but who is currently with Bridgeport in the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fourth round (109th overall) by Florida in the 1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Sarich is tied for third among ECHL rookies in plus-minus with +17 and he has scored 14 points in 40 games in his first professional season.

Starting in place of Mitchell on defense for the Southern Conference will be South Carolina rookie Aaron Schneekloth, who received the next most votes among all-star defensemen.
