Utah Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, California - John Wroblewski scored two goals and the Fresno Falcons extended the Utah Grizzlies winless streak to four games with a 5-2 victory on Saturday night.

The Falcons opened up the scoring on their first power play of the game; Shawn Mather picked up the goal, assisted by Dustin Van Ballegooie and J.F. Plourde. But the Grizzlies were able to tie the game at 9:46 when Lou DiMasi set up Colt King's 21st goal of the season; Brad Herauf was also credited with an assist. The tie didn't last long though, as John Wroblewski scored less than two minutes later to give Fresno a 2-1 lead.

Shots were fairly even during the second period: Utah had seven and Fresno had eight, but neither team was able to score.

Fresno added to the lead at 8:40 of the third period on a top shelf goal by Derek Krestanovich. Utah got back on the board just past the halfway point of the period when leading scorer Ryan Kinasewich found the back of the net for his 36th goal of the season, assisted by D.J. Jelitto and Ed Hill. The Falcons doubled the lead again at 15:30 when Peter Fregoe and Pierre-Olivier Belieu set up Dustin Van Ballegooie on a power-play to make the score 4-2. Wroblewski contributed a late insurance goal on a breakaway seconds after a penalty expired and Fresno went on to a 5-2 win.

The Grizzlies (34-28-6) return home on Monday to face the Bakersfield Condors at 7:05 p.m.
