Royals Sign Forwards Jamie Chamberlain and Kevin Saurette

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forwards Jamie Chamberlain ["CHAME-bur-lihn"] and Kevin Saurette ["sur-ET"]. Chamberlain recently completed a four year career at the University of Western Ontario where he racked up a total of 40 goals and 100 points in 91 games. A ninth round pick of the Dallas Stars in 1999, Chamberlain was selected as an Ontario University Athletics' second team all-star in his senior season. Saurette, a two-time recipient of the Mike Ridley Award for athletic and academic excellence at the University of Manitoba, scored ten goals and added twenty-five assists (35 points) and racked up 75 penalty minutes in 26 games with the Bisons this past season when he served as a team co-captain. Over the course of his five year college career, Saurette, who was twice selected as a Canada West Universities Athletic Association second team all-star, racked up 171 points in 164 games. Chamberlain and Saurette are expected to join the Royals tonight when they take on the Dayton Bombers at the E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio (7:00pm). Royals' game day broadcasts can be heard on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and on the internet at www.royalshockey.com with pre-game beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available through the Royals' website on a pay per view basis provided by B2 Networks.
